BHM Stylin': Jean-Michel Basquiat

Jean-Michel Basquiat was a famous Neo-Expressionist painter during the 1980's. Most of Basquiat's work was referred to as "primitive", but he always believed he was just an artist; not a black artist, or a primitive painter, just Basquiat.

In 1986, Basquiat was the youngest Black artist to ever have his work showcased at the Kestner-Gesellschaft Gallery in Hanover, Germany.
